Prison Break – Episode 12 – Disconnect

Episode 12 of Prison Break aired last night and it was a interesting episode. They are building up into the end of the fall season which is next week’s episode. It turns out they are taking a smaller hiatus than last year and they will only wait until January 29th to start the second segment of the season. Last year they waited until March but starting it earlier will allow Fox to start airing a new show next April on Monday nights.

The episode starts back with Linc, Michael, Michael’s Father and Sucre are at the desert hut planning their escape. We find out about Michael’s past and how he was placed into foster care after his mother died and Linc went to Juvie for a little while. Michael is locked in a dark room by the foster father and when his real Father comes to save him, he sees his foster father beaten up on the ground. He is very freaked out by what one man can do to another and runs away scared. This is the basis for his mentality as a character from what I can tell. He wants to help others and avoid death as much as possible.

Sarah is still drowning in the bath tub but manages to get the plug with her teeth and pull it out! Amazing! She must have alot of poise to be able to do that while suffocating! There is a knock at the door and the hotel manager is suspicious of Kellerman. When Kellerman goes back to check on Sarah, she attacks him and burns him with an iron right on the chest! That must have been horribly painful and it was an extremely brutal scene. We later see the burn on Kellerman’s chest and it looked very realistic. Sarah jumps out of the hotel and lands on a car cutting herself up pretty badly. Its strange the the glass didn’t shatter (saftey glass on auto windshields) yet she had some very deep cuts.

We also catch up with C-Note who is staying in a motor home with his daughter and wife. They seem to be living happily ever after until there is a problem with his daughter’s stomach. They realize that she lost her medecine so they have to risk going into town to get more medecine. Dumb pharmacist sees a newspaper picture of C-Note’s wife and rats her out. She gets arrested and C-Note is left hanging with his daughter in a motor home and his wife going to jail.

In addition to all of this, Bellick is still being questioned by the Police in Kansas about Garry’s death. T-Bag framed Bellick by putting a receipt in Garry’s hand pointing to Bellick’s name which causes the police lady to suspect him. She also manages to get ahold of the message on Garry’s phone in which Bellick told Garry that he’ll “gut him bow to stern” for stealing the money from him. Bellick is actually arrested and accused of murdering Garry! The tables have turned and now the former guard is facing the possibility of going to jail!

Scofield and the guys are still trying to figure out what to do. Lincoln tells him that they think Sarah is the key to everything because of the information her father had. They decide to try to catch the plane from the Mexican guys they tried to cut a deal with. That is, until Agent Mahone manages to catch up with them and starts shooting at them. Michael and Lincoln’s dad grabs the gun and starts shooting back. The other three jump in the car, pick the dad up and speed away. Unfortunately, the dad was shot right in the gut and he was bleeding profusely. They try to get him to the hospital but he ends up dying before they could do anything. Once again, another person who is key ends up dying. There has been lots of death so far and Michael begins to talk to Linc about that as he feels sorry for causing so much death.

They meet with the plane successfully and Lincoln and Michael decide to stay behind in order to take care of all the unfinished business. Unfortunately, Agent Mahone had received a tip from the Mexican guys and knew what kind of plane to look for. Sucre goes on in the plane by himself which only means one possible thing for next week. Lincoln and Michael start driving away and Michael desperately tries to get cell coverage to call Sarah. Out of nowhere, Mahone’s car slams into them and causes this huge explosion! I don’t know why they made such a big explosion considering its just a small car accident but the producers did it anyways! They crawl out of the car with Mahone holding them at gun point. Ironically, the cell phone survived and manages to connect with Sarah and we simply hear her saying, “Michael! Michael!” Then the episode ends.

All in all, it was a good episode. There is constant action and we didn’t even see T-Bag or the guy from the psych ward. (I can’t remember his name!) There should be alot of action next week and I can guarantee it will end with some big event since it is the end of the fall segment. The show is still good and it seems like as things start to wind down, the third season could quite possibly turn into a show focusing on two or three of the prisoner’s lives in freedom. Not sure exactly what they would do but it seems like a good possibility. Until next week, that is my summary of this week’s Prison Break!
